Lucas’ Mickey Mouse Birthday Party – Part 2

Finally, here is part 2 of the BIG Mickey Mouse Party I did for Lucas. Keep on the lookout, there could possibly be part 3. This post is going to focus on some of my home made decorations!

This is the sign that I made that was at the gate leading into the party!

This I did not make, I purchased it, but once I got it, I realized that I could have made it myself!

I made this 12 Month banner. Each Mickey head has a clothes pin attached to the back. There is one for every month of the first year with a picture from that month on it. The following pictures are a little closer up of the details of the banner.

My husband and father in law made this cupcake stand for the party! My husband painted it and then I added the words and Mickey head for the party! It was perfect!

I made these cupcake toppers for the cupcakes that my sister in law made for the party! They turned out so cute!

I made this sign, and another one just like it with a yellow background for extra decor for the party! They could be used as door signs as well. They can be made to say anything you like.

I had so much fun creating things for this party! I love the home made look for a party and did not want to just go to the store and buy a package. Would you like something seen in this blog post? Leave a comment or email me and ask. I can recreate any of this for your own party!

  11. My son Lucas is turning one son. Ughhhh I wish you lived closer. This is EXACTLY what i wanted for his party.

    • Funny! My son is also Lucas and is turning 1 in a few weeks and also having a Mickey Mouse party! My daughter (now 5) had a Minnie party for her 1st birthday. Both kids love(d) Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at this age. What great ideas!!

  12. Jennifer says:

How did you do the letter and the mickey shaped head with a one?

  13. You are awesome!! Levi turns 1 in November and I hope my decorations turn out just as good as yours :) I am a military wife too and I know how strict a budget can be. Great work!!

    • Thank you!!! I loved making everything! Plus it did save lots of money! I am sure you will do a wonderful job! I would start now. Making it all takes time! I didn’t realize how long it would all take because I am so picky and wanted it all perfect!!!

  14. great ideas! I love the cupcake stand! so cute!

  15. I looooove the banners that you made for this party. I’m in the process of planning a mickey mouse party for my soon to be one year old. Do you make those banners to sell? I would totally be interested!
    Thanks!

  16. All children love cartoons so it is nice concept of decorating according to the theme of cartoons.

  17. The setup is really nice. I like the way you hang the Mickey ears with the photo of your baby. :)

  19. I absolutely love these decorations! You did a fantastic job!!!

    • Thank you so much! I had so much fun doing the decor, and I am super excited to start making all the decor for the party this year! I just have to get to work! haha

  20. Hi Mandy – I am doing a mickey palooza theme for my little one’s first birthday, but I am SO NOT crafty to say the least! For the cupcake toppers and signs and stuff did you cut all of those by hand? Or did you use one of those cricut machine type things? I want to be able to cut costs and do a lot of things on my own as well instead of just buying a package as well. Please help me out! :) Thanks! Oh, and can you please email me?

  21. Hi, love this! How did ya get the Mickey mouse cut out?

  22. I love the cupcake tower how did they make it? I am doing a Mickey Mouse birthday for my son emry. He will be 1 this June and I would love to make something like this since I will be making lots of cupcakes. I would love am idea on how to make it if you don’t mind sharing. And all of your ideas were great and very inspiring I am also looking to make pretty much everything myself .

    • The cupcake tower my husband made, it was made out of wood. It is hollow on the inside. The stacked boxes were nailed together into a cube and then the top piece of wood added. Sorry I don’t know any specifics, since I wasn’t the one who made it. :) Thank you for the compliments. I had a lot of fun doing that party!

  23. Hi! I am the least crafty person alive but I’m trying to do a Mickey-themed first birthday party for my son this summer. Can you give any tips/insight on how you made these adorable decorations? Did you buy cutouts somewhere to trace the Mickey shapes, for example, or make your own?

    • I actually made the cutouts myself on my Cricut machine. I am sure you could find some online and just print them on cardstock and cut them out that way though. I think you can also find a Mickey font online and print from Word and cut on Cardstock as well. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
